Compensation/Schedule: $20/hour, 20 hours/week

Adventure Cycling needs help from a motivated and people-oriented individual to greet visiting cyclists during the bicycle travel season and organize photos for our photo library during the downtime. This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone with a background or an interest in photography, people, and bicycle travel. If this sounds like fun, please apply. We’d love to talk to you.

Adventure Cycling hereby contracts for services related:

  • Greeting and spending time with visiting cyclists, asking them questions, learning about their trip and who they are, telling them about Adventure Cycling, and identifying great story potential
  • Taking Open Road Gallery photos and ensuring cyclists fill out the release form, complete with the story of their trip
  • Weighing loaded bicycles
  • Identifying visiting cyclists with great stories
  • Selecting the top photos from our backlog and organizing them in our photo library

Terms of the agreement: $20/hour, approximately 20 hours per week or 260 hours maximum. The weekly schedule is Monday-Friday. The contract goes through August 29, 2025, or until the payment total reaches $5,200 (not to exceed). Adventure Cycling has the right to cancel the contract at any time.

Greeter & Content Creator will document their time and provide a monthly invoice showing hours and payment, and will submit this to Membership Manager (Geoff McMillion) at the end of every month.

Specifically, the contract includes performing the following duties, which will be reported to the Membership Manager at the end of each month.

Position Responsibilities

  • Engage with visiting traveling cyclists who visit Adventure Cycling headquarters, welcome them, discover their stories, and communicate about Adventure Cycling and its mission
  • Capture photo and video content of willing visiting cyclists for use across social and digital channels
  • Collect, review, and organize the photo assets from various Adventure Cycling platforms and archives following criteria outlined by Marketing Team
  • Organize assets according to program, apply metadata, and transfer assets to online sharing platform as outlined in documented process
  • Notify Marketing VP of weekly progress

Desired Skills or Experience

  • An eye for editorial photography
  • Familiar with scanning and optimizing images for print and web
  • Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Adobe illustrator, and basic metadata entry
  • Organized, self-motivating, and a fast learner with attention to detail
  • Comfortable with online asset management platforms
  • Excited about bicycle travel, inclusivity, and storytelling through photography
